Are your workshops available to take at any time?
Yes, you can sign up for all of our programs whenever you’d like. The only exception(s) would be our new and upcoming programs which are always featured on the front page and have a start date. All other programs are open and “work at your own pace” style.
How do your programs work?
Our programs all consist of modules which have set lessons and exercises for specific portions of the workshop. Each module* contains both video and workbook content. You should expect to spend about 4 – 10 hours on each module (sometimes more if the project is large). That time includes viewing videos, reading the workbook and creating any art or exercises contained within.
* The one exception is our Art Journal program which does not contain videos for every module – 3 of the 8 modules are workbooks only.
Our videos are streamable and our workbooks are provided in PDF format. You are welcome to print out our workbooks if you’d like but please do not share them. The material is copyright and not to be shared with anyone who has not paid for the content.
How long will I have access to my Workshop(s)?
Access to ArtTrader Workshops is on-going as long as the program remains on our website (and we haven’t removed any since we started!). Please note that if a workshop is ever scheduled to be removed from ArtTrader’s website, we will give you 3 months notice so that you can complete the program.
What level of artist are your programs geared toward?
ArtTrader workshops are generally geared toward new artists, art hobbyists and/or those who are more experienced but want to try art in a new medium (ie mixed media and collage). We do welcome all levels of artists and each program will state the appropriate level on the workshop page.
What if I have a question about the workshop content? Can I contact an instructor?
Yes, of course! Just use our Contact Form to send your question and we will make sure it gets to the instructor who will email a response directly to you. You are also welcome to post in our Workshop Forums (student access only) where instructors are often available most days of the week.
How do I sign up for a program?
Simply click the “register now” button on any workshop page and fill out the registration / payment form. Please make sure you remember your user name and password as you will need it later, to sign into your program.

I don’t have a PayPal account. Can I pay another way?
We’re sorry but we only accept PayPal. In addition, all refunds are processed through PayPal. Perhaps in the future this will change but for now, it’s just PayPal.
When do I receive access? How long does it take?
Once your payment has been processed, you will receive an access email with the online workshop information. You will need to be logged in to ArtTrader to access your program(s). Please use the Student Access button at the top right of any ArtTrader website page.
I have not received my access email. What should I do?
Please check your junk email folder first of all. Sometimes emails end up there unfortunately. If the email is not there, please use the Contact Form to let us know and we’ll send out a new email. Please note that we are only here between 9 am – 5 pm EST/EDT on Monday – Friday. We will respond on evenings and weekends if we’re available but there are no guarantees until Monday morning and/or 9 am EDT/EST.
Can I get a refund on your program?
No, because once we send access to a program, you have received our content so refunds are not applicable. However, if you have signed up for one of the new programs with a set date, you can cancel your registration at anytime up to to start date of the program. Once access emails have been sent, refunds will no longer be applicable.
Do you sell your online workshops on DVD?
No, not right now. Providing online access is much easier for us and once a program is online, we don’t plan on removing it. Once registered, you will have on-going access to your program. If we ever have to remove a program, we will provide you with 3 months notice so you can finish up – if you haven’t already.
Do you provide Continuing Education certification or any sort of points for your programs?
ArtTrader Mag workshops don’t provide official points or credits toward certification or renewal for teachers or other professions. Our workshops are geared toward new and intermediate artists and are more for fun learning than professional learning. If you need further details, please feel free to ask us!

Do you have a Subscription Service for all workshops?
Yes, we’re putting it together right now and it will be available later in Winter 2012.
What programs are coming up for later in 2011 and 2012?
Lots of them! Here’s a list of programs we’re working on:
